Responsibility
- Lead and mentor a team of security engineers to design, implement, and maintain robust security solutions for Google’s global infrastructure.
- Develop and execute strategic security roadmaps aligned with business objectives, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Drive the adoption of zero-trust security models, threat detection systems, and automated response mechanisms to mitigate risks proactively.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to integrate security best practices into all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Oversee incident response efforts, including forensic analysis, root cause identification, and remediation planning for security breaches.
- Champion security awareness programs and training initiatives to foster a culture of security across the organization.
- Evaluate emerging threats and technologies, recommending innovative solutions to enhance Google’s security posture.
- Represent Google in external forums, conferences, and industry collaborations to share insights and shape security standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of experience in security engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven expertise in zero-trust architectures, identity and access management (IAM), and cloud security (GCP/AWS/Azure).
- Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management systems.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, encryption standards, and secure coding practices.
- Experience with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR) and risk management methodologies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSP are highly desirable.
