Responsibility
- Lead the research and development of embodied AI algorithms for robotic systems, focusing on perception, decision-making, and control.
- Design and implement ROS-I-based solutions for industrial and commercial applications, ensuring scalability and real-world deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including robotics engineers, AI researchers, and industry partners, to translate research into production-ready systems.
- Publish and present research findings in high-impact journals and conferences, contributing to the global AI and robotics community.
- Mentor junior researchers and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies, such as reinforcement learning, computer vision, and simulation tools, into robotic systems.
- Ensure compliance with ethical AI practices and industry standards for safety and reliability in robotic applications.
- Travel occasionally to Singapore for project reviews, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, with a focus on embodied AI, machine learning, or robotics.
- 5+ years of experience in AI research or robotics development, with a proven track record of published work or deployed systems.
- Expertise in ROS/ROS-I and hands-on experience with robotic hardware and simulation environments (e.g., Gazebo, PyBullet).
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or both, with experience in AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Familiarity with reinforcement learning, computer vision, and sensor fusion techniques for robotic applications.
- Experience with industrial robotics, automation, or manufacturing systems is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
