Responsibility
- Perform component-level debugging of National Instruments hardware to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
- Lead failure analysis on field-returned products, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to implement engineering changes and improve product reliability.
- Develop and execute test procedures to validate hardware performance and compliance with specifications.
- Utilize oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and verify fixes.
- Provide technical support to customer service and field engineers for escalated hardware issues.
- Contribute to design reviews and suggest improvements for future product iterations.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in hardware debugging, failure analysis, or sustaining engineering.
- Proficiency in using lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers).
- Strong understanding of analog/digital circuit design and PCB-level troubleshooting.
- Experience with soldering, rework, and prototyping for hardware validation.
- Familiarity with LabVIEW, NI TestStand, or similar test automation tools is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a methodical approach to root-cause analysis.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate across global teams.
