Responsibility
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems to ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).
- Conduct comprehensive inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify adherence to specifications.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action (CAPA) processes for non-conformances, deviations, and customer complaints.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce defects.
- Prepare and present detailed quality reports, including metrics on defect rates, process capabilities, and compliance status.
- Train and mentor staff on quality procedures, best practices, and the use of advanced inspection tools (e.g., CMM, optical comparators).
- Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring readiness for certifications and customer evaluations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma Black Belt) are a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably within the aerospace, precision manufacturing, or automotive industries.
- In-depth knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), including AS9100, ISO 9001, and IATF 16949.
- Proficiency in using metrology tools (e.g., CMM, calipers, micrometers) and statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, SPSS).
- Strong problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram) and corrective action frameworks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders at all levels, including customers and regulatory bodies.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen principles is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a commitment to precision and attention to detail.
