job description

Join Lumentum, a global leader in optical and photonic solutions, as our Senior Program Manager for CM Product Launch and play a pivotal role in driving the successful introduction of cutting-edge products through our contract manufacturing (CM) partners. This is a unique opportunity to lead cross-functional teams, optimize production processes, and ensure seamless transitions from planning to full-scale production ramp—all while working remotely from the vibrant and inspiring locations of Bali, Indonesia (Canggu, Ubud, Denpasar, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, Kuta, or Badung).

In this high-impact role, you will collaborate with engineering, supply chain, quality assurance, and external manufacturing partners to deliver products on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your strategic leadership will directly contribute to Lumentum’s mission of enabling next-generation technologies in telecommunications, industrial, and consumer markets. If you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and have a passion for driving innovation through effective program management, we want you on our team.

As a remote-based role, you’ll enjoy the flexibility of working from one of Bali’s most sought-after locations while staying connected to a global team of experts. Lumentum offers a competitive compensation package, professional development opportunities, and a culture that values collaboration, creativity, and results. This is your chance to make a tangible impact in a company at the forefront of optical and photonic advancements.

Responsibility

  • Lead the end-to-end product launch process for new products at contract manufacturing (CM) partners, from initial planning through production ramp and volume scaling.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive program plans, including timelines, milestones, risk mitigation strategies, and resource allocation to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Operations) to align on product requirements, manufacturing capabilities, and launch readiness.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for CM partners, ensuring clear communication, issue resolution, and adherence to Lumentum’s quality and performance standards.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, cycle time, cost, and quality to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Identify and mitigate risks that could impact product launch timelines, cost, or quality, proactively implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives by evaluating manufacturing processes, material sourcing, and logistics to maximize efficiency and profitability.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and accountability within the program team and with external stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field); MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in program management, with at least 5 years in product launch or manufacturing operations, preferably in the optical, photonic, or high-tech industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing contract manufacturing (CM) partners and driving product launches from concept to volume production.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain logistics, and quality management systems (ISO, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Exceptional project management skills, with proficiency in tools such as MS Project, JIRA, Smartsheet, or similar.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with experience working with global teams and external partners.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize program performance.
  • PMP, PgMP, or Six Sigma certification is a strong advantage.
  • Experience working in a remote or hybrid environment with a high degree of self-motivation and time management skills.
