Responsibility
- Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from conceptualization and prototyping to mass production and deployment.
- Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure products meet technical specifications, performance benchmarks, and industry standards.
- Design and optimize hardware components (e.g., server chassis, cooling systems, power distribution) for reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and failure mode analyses to mitigate potential design flaws.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and test reports.
- Work closely with suppliers and vendors to source high-quality materials and components while negotiating cost-effective solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering challenges during product testing, validation, and field deployment.
- Stay ahead of industry trends in data center hardware, emerging technologies (e.g., liquid cooling, AI-optimized servers), and sustainability best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in product engineering, preferably in the data center, server, or enterprise hardware industry.
- Proven expertise in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, CFD for thermal analysis).
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, PCB assembly) and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles.
- Experience with industry standards (e.g., NEBS, UL, CE, RoHS) and compliance testing for hardware products.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical data.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required; proficiency in Mandarin or Malay is a bonus.
- Strong project management and communication skills to liaise with global teams and stakeholders.
