job description
Join a cutting-edge engineering team as a Process Engineer specializing in Batch ALD (Atomic Layer Deposition) and Furnace Systems in the heart of Bali’s growing semiconductor and advanced manufacturing hub. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with global customers, field operations, and internal R&D teams to optimize, troubleshoot, and enhance KE equipment solutions deployed at high-tech fabrication sites.
As a key technical liaison, you will drive process improvements, ensure equipment performance meets stringent industry standards, and contribute to the development of next-generation thin-film deposition technologies. Based in Badung, Bali, you’ll work in a dynamic environment where innovation meets tropical work-life balance, supporting clients across Southeast Asia’s booming electronics and renewable energy sectors.
Ideal for engineers with a passion for semiconductor manufacturing, precision thin-film processes, or thermal treatment systems, this position combines hands-on problem-solving with strategic project leadership. Whether refining ALD recipes for uniform coatings or optimizing furnace thermal profiles, your expertise will directly impact product quality and operational efficiency.
Responsibility
- Process Optimization: Develop, refine, and validate ALD and furnace processes to improve yield, uniformity, and repeatability for customer applications.
- Equipment Performance: Monitor and analyze system performance metrics, identifying root causes of deviations and implementing corrective actions.
- Customer Collaboration: Work on-site or remotely with clients to address process challenges, provide technical training, and ensure seamless equipment integration.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with R&D, field service, and production teams to align process developments with equipment capabilities and customer requirements.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain detailed process documentation, SOPs, and compliance records in accordance with industry standards (e.g., ISO, SEMI).
- Troubleshooting: Lead rapid-response troubleshooting for process-related issues, minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment uptime.
- Continuous Improvement: Propose and implement process enhancements based on data analysis, customer feedback, and emerging industry trends.
- Technical Reporting: Prepare and present technical reports, process FMEAs, and DOE (Design of Experiments) results to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or Physics with a focus on semiconductor processing or thin-film technologies.
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years in process engineering, with hands-on experience in Batch ALD, CVD, or thermal furnace systems (preferably in semiconductor, solar, or MEMS industries).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in process simulation tools (e.g., COMSOL, Silvaco), statistical analysis (JMP, Minitab), and equipment software (LabVIEW, Python).
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of thin-film deposition principles, thermal budgets, and contamination control in high-volume manufacturing.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a track record of resolving complex process issues under tight deadlines.
- Communication: Excellent English proficiency (written and verbal) for collaborating with global teams and presenting technical data.
- Travel: Willingness to travel 20-30% to customer sites across Southeast Asia (e.g., Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand).
- Soft Skills: Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
