Responsibility
- Lead the development and formulation of high-performance polymer materials for industrial and environmental applications.
- Conduct comprehensive polymer characterization using techniques such as DSC, TGA, FTIR, and rheology to assess material properties.
- Optimize polymer processing parameters (e.g., temperature, pressure, extrusion rates) to improve efficiency and reduce defects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Design and execute experimental test plans to validate material performance under various conditions.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in polymer science to drive continuous improvement.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations in all material development processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Polymer Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in polymer material development, processing, or R&D, preferably in an industrial setting.
- Hands-on experience with polymer characterization tools (e.g., DSC, TGA, GPC, SEM) and processing equipment (e.g., extruders, injection molders).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to material optimization.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and experimental design (DOE) for material testing.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with ISO, ASTM, or other relevant industry standards for polymer testing and quality control.
- Experience in sustainable or bio-based polymer development is a plus.
