Responsibility
- Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise middleware solutions, including application servers, message brokers, and integration platforms (e.g., IBM WebSphere, Red Hat JBoss, Apache Kafka, or TIBCO).
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize middleware configurations to ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to implement best practices for middleware deployment, patching, and upgrades.
- Develop and maintain documentation for middleware architectures, processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, or PowerShell) and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, or Chef).
- Ensure compliance with security policies, including vulnerability assessments, access controls, and encryption standards.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical middleware incidents and participate in disaster recovery planning.
- Stay updated with emerging middleware technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance system performance and business agility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Middleware Administrator, with expertise in enterprise middleware platforms (e.g., IBM WebSphere, Red Hat JBoss, Oracle Fusion, or Apache Kafka).
- Strong knowledge of integration patterns, APIs, and microservices architecture.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef).
- Experience with cloud-based middleware solutions (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, or Splunk) and performance tuning techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Certifications such as IBM Certified Middleware Administrator, Red Hat Certified Specialist in Enterprise Application Server, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer are highly desirable.
