Responsibility
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on submarine mechanical systems, including propulsion, hydraulic, and auxiliary machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical failures using advanced diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
- Conduct inspections and tests on mechanical components to ensure compliance with maritime safety and operational standards.
- Lead or assist in overhaul and repair projects for submarine systems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
- Document all maintenance activities, including work orders, technical reports, and parts inventory, in accordance with company protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical technicians and engineers, to resolve interdisciplinary technical issues.
- Adhere to strict safety and quality control procedures to mitigate risks in high-pressure marine environments.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior technicians, sharing best practices and technical expertise.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician, preferably in marine, submarine, or naval engineering environments.
- Certification in mechanical engineering, marine technology, or a related field (e.g., Diploma, Bachelor’s degree, or vocational training).
- Proven expertise in maintaining and repairing mechanical systems, such as diesel engines, pumps, valves, and hydraulic systems.
- Familiarity with maritime regulations and standards (e.g., SOLAS, ISO, or military specifications).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, calibration equipment, and hand/power tools relevant to submarine systems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in confined spaces and under pressure.
- Willingness to travel or relocate for project assignments as required.
