Responsibility
- Serve as the primary manufacturing liaison for new and existing hardware products, including AFM systems and related instrumentation.
- Develop, optimize, and document manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product consistency.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to assess product designs for manufacturability and provide actionable feedback.
- Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing defects or process inefficiencies.
- Oversee the introduction of new products (NPI) from prototyping to mass production, ensuring smooth transitions and adherence to timelines.
- Train and mentor production staff on assembly techniques, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Work closely with suppliers and procurement teams to source high-quality materials and components.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelorās or Masterās degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in precision instrumentation, electronics, or semiconductor industries.
- Proven expertise in process development, DFM (Design for Manufacturability), and NPI (New Product Introduction).
- Strong knowledge of quality control systems (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) and statistical process control (SPC).
- Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to troubleshooting and process optimization.
- Familiarity with AFM, microscopy, or scientific instrumentation is a significant advantage.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to collaborate effectively with global, cross-functional teams.
