Responsibility
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes for laser systems, engineered materials, and precision components to improve yield, cost, and throughput.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation in compliance with ISO, FDA, and industry-specific regulations.
- Spearhead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action (CAPA) initiatives to resolve production bottlenecks, defects, and non-conformances.
- Collaborate with R&D, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to scale new products from prototype to mass production.
- Drive continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma methodologies, including Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Evaluate and integrate automation and Industry 4.0 technologies (e.g., IoT, robotics, AI-driven analytics) to enhance manufacturing agility.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and production staff on best practices, safety protocols, and advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Manage vendor and supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of high-quality raw materials and components.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Materials Science; advanced degrees preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on precision optics, lasers, or semiconductor industries.
- Proven expertise in process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), DFMEA/PFMEA, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Strong proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), Minitab, and ERP/MES systems (SAP, Oracle).
- Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt) or Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
- Excellent project management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams in a high-volume production environment.
- Familiarity with cleanroom protocols, ESD control, and laser safety standards (ANSI Z136).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English (written and verbal).
