Responsibility
- Develop and execute comprehensive Employee and Industrial Relations strategies aligned with the universityâs mission.
- Act as the primary point of contact for union engagements, collective bargaining, and grievance handling.
- Conduct thorough, impartial investigations into complex workplace complaints and disciplinary matters.
- Provide strategic advice and coaching to senior leadership on HR policy interpretation and labor legislation.
- Monitor and analyze local labor laws and employment trends to ensure institutional compliance and best practices.
- Facilitate constructive dialogue between staff and management to proactively mitigate industrial relations risks.
- Manage end-to-end performance management and exit processes with a focus on fairness and standard procedures.
- Lead organizational change management initiatives to improve employee engagement and workplace morale.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in HR, with a strong focus on Industrial Relations and Employee Relations.
- Proven track record of managing union relations and complex disciplinary or legal proceedings in Singapore.
- In-depth knowledge of Singaporeâs Employment Act and Tripartite Guidelines.
- Exceptional interpersonal, mediation, and negotiation skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence.
- Strong analytical mindset, capable of translating complex policy into actionable workplace strategies.
- Ability to thrive in a large, multifaceted, and multicultural institutional environment.
- Experience in higher education or the public sector is highly advantageous.
