Responsibility
- Design, develop, and execute test automation scripts for mainframe applications using tools like CICS, COBOL, DB2, or JCL.
- Perform functional, regression, and performance testing on mainframe systems to ensure seamless operation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify test requirements and define test cases for mainframe-based solutions.
- Analyze test results, document defects, and work with developers to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for mainframe testing to streamline deployment processes.
- Ensure compliance with security and data integrity standards in mainframe environments.
- Mentor junior testers and provide technical guidance on mainframe testing best practices.
- Stay updated with emerging trends in mainframe modernization and testing methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Mainframe Testing, including hands-on work with CICS, COBOL, DB2, or IMS.
- Proven expertise in test automation tools (e.g., Rational Test Workbench, Compuware Topaz, or Micro Focus).
- Strong knowledge of SDLC and Agile/DevOps methodologies in mainframe environments.
- Experience with JCL, VSAM, and mainframe utilities (e.g., File-AID, SyncSort).
- Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM, or Bugzilla).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with global teams.
