Responsibility
- Develop and review mechanical system designs (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, etc.) for commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to ensure project viability and compliance with Singapore’s building codes (e.g., BCA, SS, and Green Mark standards).
- Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, and contractors to integrate M&E systems seamlessly into project designs.
- Prepare and present detailed technical reports, drawings, and specifications for client approval and regulatory submissions.
- Oversee site inspections and commissioning to verify system performance, safety, and adherence to design specifications.
- Provide cost estimates and value engineering recommendations to optimize project budgets without compromising quality.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and sustainability trends (e.g., energy-efficient systems, smart building solutions) to enhance project outcomes.
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; PE (Professional Engineer) certification in Singapore is a plus.
- 3–5 years of experience in M&E consultancy, with a proven track record in designing mechanical systems for buildings.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and BIM software for drafting and 3D modeling.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore’s building codes, standards (BCA, SS), and Green Mark certification requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities to liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Experience with sustainable design principles (e.g., energy efficiency, LEED, or Green Mark) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with local suppliers, vendors, and construction practices in Singapore.
