Responsibility
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of HVOF, plasma spray, and thermal spray coating processes for industrial applications.
- Oversee material selection, substrate preparation, and post-treatment processes to ensure superior adhesion, wear resistance, and corrosion protection.
- Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to integrate coating solutions into production workflows.
- Conduct failure analysis and root-cause investigations to improve coating performance and reliability.
- Develop and validate testing protocols (e.g., adhesion, hardness, porosity, thermal cycling) in accordance with ASTM, ISO, or industry-specific standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in surface engineering, including nanocoatings, cold spray, and additive manufacturing hybrid processes.
- Prepare technical reports, patents, and presentations for stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. PhD is a plus.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in HVOF, thermal spray, or plasma spray coatings, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Hands-on experience with coating characterization tools (SEM, XRD, profilometry, microhardness testers, etc.).
- Proven track record in process optimization, troubleshooting, and scaling for high-volume production.
- Strong knowledge of metallic, ceramic, and cermet coatings (e.g., WC-Co, Cr3C2-NiCr, Al2O3, ZrO2).
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM, FEA, or coating simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in English; additional language skills (e.g., Indonesian) are advantageous.
