Responsibility
- Conduct thorough inspections of instrumentation systems, including sensors, transmitters, control valves, and PLCs, to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Verify the accuracy of instrumentation installation, calibration, and testing procedures in accordance with ISO, API, IEC, and local regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with project engineers and technicians to troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation-related issues during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, including non-conformance reports (NCRs), test records, and compliance documentation for project stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Perform functional testing of instrumentation systems to validate performance, reliability, and safety before project handover.
- Ensure all instrumentation activities adhere to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies and best practices to maintain a zero-incident workplace.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior inspectors and field technicians to enhance team capabilities.
- Participate in project meetings, safety briefings, and quality audits to ensure seamless project execution.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Instrumentation Inspector in oil & gas, petrochemical, or large-scale construction projects.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), loop drawings, and technical specifications.
- Strong knowledge of international standards such as ISO 9001, API 550, IEC 61511, and local regulatory requirements.
- Hands-on experience with calibration tools, HART communicators, multimeter testing, and loop testing equipment.
- Certifications such as CompEx, NEBOSH, or equivalent HSE qualifications are highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to identify and rectify instrumentation discrepancies.
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal) to liaise with international teams and stakeholders.
