Responsibility
- Develop, maintain, and analyze GIS databases to support mining and resource exploration projects.
- Conduct spatial analysis and remote sensing to identify patterns, trends, and potential resource deposits.
- Create high-quality cartographic maps, 3D models, and geospatial visualizations for stakeholders and reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS data with geological, environmental, and engineering datasets.
- Perform environmental impact assessments (EIA) using GIS tools to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Automate geospatial workflows using Python, ArcPy, or QGIS scripting to improve efficiency.
- Provide technical support and training to team members on GIS software and best practices.
- Stay updated with the latest GIS technologies, satellite imagery, and industry trends to enhance project outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in GIS analysis, preferably in mining, energy, or natural resources.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS, QGIS, ERDAS Imagine, or ENVI for spatial data processing.
- Strong knowledge of remote sensing, LiDAR, and drone imagery interpretation.
- Experience with SQL, Python (ArcPy, GDAL), or R for geospatial automation and analysis.
- Familiarity with GPS data collection, surveying, and field data integration.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
