Responsibility
- Conduct comprehensive geological assessments, including field surveys, sample collection, and data analysis to support mining and resource projects.
- Develop and interpret geological maps, cross-sections, and 3D models to identify potential resource deposits.
- Provide technical input for feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering and environmental teams to optimize exploration and extraction strategies.
- Monitor and evaluate geological risks, such as landslides, seismic activity, or groundwater issues, and recommend mitigation measures.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management and external stakeholders.
- Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in geology and resource management.
- Mentor junior geologists and provide training on field techniques, software tools, and analytical methods.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in geological exploration, mining, or resource assessment, with a proven track record in project support.
- Proficiency in geological software (e.g., Micromine, Surpac, ArcGIS, Leapfrog) and data analysis tools.
- Strong knowledge of mineralogy, stratigraphy, and structural geology, with experience in Southeast Asian geological contexts.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Familiarity with local and international regulatory frameworks governing mining and resource extraction.
- Exceptional communication skills, including technical writing and the ability to present findings to non-technical audiences.
- Willingness to conduct fieldwork in remote or challenging environments, as required.
