Responsibility
- Lead the geotechnical design, analysis, and oversight of tunneling and underground infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct site investigations, soil/rock testing, and geotechnical assessments to inform design and construction methodologies.
- Develop and implement geotechnical risk management strategies to mitigate potential hazards during construction and operation.
- Collaborate with project managers, structural engineers, and contractors to integrate geotechnical considerations into overall project planning and execution.
- Prepare technical reports, design calculations, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including clients and regulatory bodies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior geotechnical engineers and support staff.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to geotechnical specifications and resolve on-site challenges in real time.
- Stay updated on advancements in geotechnical engineering, tunneling technologies, and sustainable practices to drive innovation in project delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelorās or Masterās degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on tunneling, underground structures, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Proven experience with geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, FLAC, GeoStudio) and numerical modeling tools.
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical investigation techniques, soil/rock mechanics, and foundation design.
- Experience working in Southeast Asia or tropical environments is a plus, with familiarity with local geotechnical challenges.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across Bali as required.
