Join Databricks as a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) and become a trusted technical advisor to our most strategic customers in the APAC region. In this high-impact role, you will embed directly with enterprise clients to design, build, and deploy custom full-stack applications on the Databricks Lakehouse Platform. Responsibility
- Embed with enterprise customers as a technical advisor to understand their business challenges and translate them into scalable solutions on the Databricks platform.
- Design, develop, and deploy custom full-stack applications, integrating data engineering, machine learning, and cloud-native architectures.
- Collaborate with customer stakeholders, including executives, data scientists, and engineers, to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, including coding, debugging, and optimizing performance for large-scale data pipelines and AI models.
- Deliver technical workshops, proof-of-concepts (PoCs), and architecture reviews to accelerate customer adoption of Databricks technologies.
- Act as a liaison between customers and Databricksâ product/engineering teams to influence roadmap priorities based on field insights.
- Mentor junior engineers and customer teams on best practices for data governance, security, and MLOps.
- Stay ahead of industry trends in big data, AI/ML, and cloud computing to provide thought leadership to customers and internal teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or cloud architecture, with a focus on customer-facing roles.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, Java, or SQL, and experience with big data tools (Spark, Delta Lake, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern data architectures (data lakes, lakehouses, or warehouses).
- Strong understanding of machine learning workflows, MLOps, and data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, MLflow).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proven track record of delivering customer-facing projects, including PoCs, technical workshops, or architecture designs.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating effectively with global teams.
