Note: This role is open to candidates based in Bali with the ability to work remotely. Occasional travel to our headquarters may be required for critical project milestones.
Responsibility
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for medical devices, ensuring compliance with industry standards (IEC 62304, ISO 13485).
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize device performance, power efficiency, and real-time processing capabilities.
- Implement robust debugging, testing, and validation protocols to ensure firmware reliability and safety.
- Write and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and compliance records.
- Troubleshoot and resolve firmware-related issues in collaboration with QA and field support teams.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous innovation in medical device firmware.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and agile development processes to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware development, preferably in the medical device or healthcare industry.
- Proficiency in C/C++, RTOS, and embedded Linux for real-time applications.
- Experience with microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, STM32, PIC, etc.) and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN).
- Familiarity with medical device regulations (FDA, CE, ISO 13485) and firmware validation processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex hardware-software interactions.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote/hybrid environment.
