Responsibility
- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive backup and disaster recovery (DR) strategies for KPJ Healthcareâs server infrastructure and private cloud.
- Ensure high availability and resilience of critical systems to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Conduct regular DR drills and simulations to validate recovery procedures and identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor backup jobs, troubleshoot failures, and optimize performance to meet SLAs.
- Collaborate with IT security, network, and operations teams to align DR strategies with cybersecurity and compliance requirements.
- Develop and maintain documentation for backup/DR policies, procedures, and runbooks.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members and stakeholders.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in backup, DR, and cloud resilience.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with a focus on backup, disaster recovery, and system resilience.
- Hands-on experience with backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Veritas) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or private cloud).
- Strong knowledge of server virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and storage technologies (SAN, NAS).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, HIPAA).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure during critical incidents.
- Certifications such as Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE), AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are a plus.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate with global teams.
