Responsibility
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end patient billing process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with institutional policies and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, clinical, and administrative departments, to streamline billing workflows and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor and analyze billing data to identify trends, inefficiencies, or errors, and implement corrective actions to enhance operational performance.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for billing processes, ensuring consistency and adherence to best practices.
- Liaise with insurance providers, patients, and third-party payers to clarify billing inquiries, verify coverage, and facilitate reimbursements.
- Prepare and present financial reports and dashboards to senior management, highlighting key metrics, variances, and recommendations for improvement.
- Train and mentor junior staff on billing systems, policies, and software, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Stay updated on healthcare billing regulations, coding standards (e.g., ICD-10, CPT), and industry trends to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CPA, CMPE, or healthcare billing certifications) are a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare billing, revenue cycle management, or financial operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proven expertise in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or similar) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or data analytics tools.
- Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement models, insurance claim processing, and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, local healthcare laws).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present insights clearly.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team management, conflict resolution, and process improvement initiatives.
- High attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Familiarity with international healthcare systems or experience working in a multicultural setting is advantageous.
