Responsibility
- Develop detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings using Tekla Structures and AutoCAD for steel structures, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with structural engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to interpret design intent and resolve technical discrepancies.
- Review and validate drawings for accuracy, dimensions, and material specifications to minimize errors and rework.
- Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and cutting lists to support procurement and production planning.
- Maintain organized digital archives of drawings and revisions for easy retrieval and version control.
- Provide technical support to on-site teams by clarifying drawing details and addressing fabrication challenges.
- Stay updated with industry best practices, software updates, and new drafting techniques to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Ensure all drawings adhere to local building codes, safety regulations, and client requirements.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Draftsperson in steel fabrication, construction, or structural engineering.
- Proficiency in Tekla Structures and AutoCAD (advanced 3D modeling skills are a plus).
- Strong understanding of steel design, connection details, and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, GA drawings, and technical specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and spatial visualization skills.
- Familiarity with ISO, AISC, or Eurocode standards is advantageous.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams.
