Responsibility
- Lead the architecture and implementation of advanced Design-for-Test (DFT) and Design-for-Debug (DFD) features for complex SoC designs.
- Develop and integrate comprehensive scan, ATPG, MBIST, and JTAG solutions into various IP blocks and full chip designs.
- Collaborate closely with design, verification, physical design, and test engineering teams to ensure seamless DFT insertion and silicon debug.
- Analyze and debug DFT-related failures on silicon, working to identify root causes and provide solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement in DFT methodologies, flows, and tools to enhance efficiency and coverage.
- Contribute to the specification and validation of test patterns for Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance within the DFT team.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to the overall quality and manufacturability of AMD products.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Design-for-Test (DFT) for high-performance digital circuits.
- Deep expertise in scan compression, ATPG, MBIST, JTAG, and functional test methodologies.
- Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools from Synopsys, Cadence, or Mentor Graphics for DFT insertion, ATPG, and pattern generation.
- Strong scripting skills in Perl, Python, or Tcl for automation and data analysis.
- Experience with Verilog/VHDL and digital design principles.
- Solid understanding of silicon bring-up, debug, and characterization processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a global team environment.
- Familiarity with formal verification and functional verification methodologies is a plus.
