Responsibility
- Design, develop, and optimize high-availability database architectures (SQL/NoSQL) to support enterprise-scale applications.
- Lead database migration, consolidation, and modernization initiatives, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
- Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and DevOps teams to integrate seamless data pipelines and storage solutions.
- Implement security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and compliance with GDPR/PDPA standards.
- Monitor and tune database performance, identifying bottlenecks and proposing scalable solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Snowflake) to meet evolving business needs.
- Develop disaster recovery and backup strategies to ensure data resilience and business continuity.
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on database design principles and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in database architecture, with a focus on large-scale, distributed systems.
- Expertise in relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud Spanner) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
- Experience with ETL pipelines, data warehousing (Redshift, BigQuery), and real-time analytics.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills to drive cross-functional collaboration.
