Responsibility
- Design, implement, and maintain database architectures that support high availability and scalability.
- Develop and enforce database security policies to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Monitor and optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
- Plan and execute disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate database solutions with application systems.
- Automate routine database tasks using scripting and scheduling tools.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior database administrators.
- Stay updated with emerging database technologies and recommend improvements to enhance system efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on large-scale database environments.
- Proficiency in database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
- Strong knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery procedures.
- Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
- Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
