Responsibility
- Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures tailored to healthcare environments.
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability audits on healthcare IT systems and applications.
- Design and maintain security architectures (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM) to protect electronic health records (EHR) and medical devices.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents, including breach investigations and forensic analysis.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare-specific regulations (HIPAA, GDPR) and industry best practices (NIST, ISO 27001).
- Lead security awareness training for healthcare staff to mitigate human-related risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate secure coding practices into healthcare software development.
- Stay ahead of emerging threats in healthcare cybersecurity and recommend proactive countermeasures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in healthcare IT security.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or HITRUST are highly advantageous.
- Deep understanding of healthcare compliance frameworks (HIPAA, HITECH) and data protection laws.
- Hands-on experience with security tools (e.g., Splunk, Wireshark, Metasploit, Nessus).
- Proven ability to design secure network architectures for cloud and on-premise healthcare systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on threat intelligence.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate security risks to non-technical stakeholders.
