Responsibility
- Develop and implement MSIG's Credit and Political Risks insurance business strategy for the Asia-Pacific region
- Assess and underwrite complex political risk and credit insurance policies, including contract frustration, expropriation, and non-payment risks
- Conduct in-depth country risk analysis and monitor geopolitical developments affecting insurable risks
- Collaborate with brokers, clients, and internal teams to structure bespoke insurance solutions
- Establish and maintain underwriting guidelines, pricing models, and risk appetite frameworks
- Prepare detailed risk assessment reports and present findings to senior management and clients
- Monitor portfolio performance and recommend adjustments to optimize risk-return profiles
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry trends affecting credit and political risk insurance
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in credit risk underwriting, political risk analysis, or related fields in the insurance/reinsurance industry
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, International Relations, or related field; Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPCU, ARM) preferred
- Strong understanding of international trade finance, sovereign risk, and emerging market dynamics
- Proven track record in developing and executing business strategies in the insurance sector
- Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in risk modeling and financial analysis tools
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English; additional Asian languages are a plus
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining strong collaboration with global teams
- Experience with insurance underwriting software and CRM systems (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek)
