Responsibility
- Develop and maintain comprehensive cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction projects.
- Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to identify savings opportunities and cost-saving measures.
- Monitor project expenditures, track budget variances, and provide regular financial reports to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to align cost plans with design and execution strategies.
- Perform value engineering assessments to optimize project costs without compromising quality or safety.
- Prepare and present cost proposals, bids, and tender documents for client and internal approvals.
- Implement cost-control systems and tools to ensure adherence to financial targets throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assess financial risks and propose mitigation strategies to minimize project overruns.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cost engineering, estimating, or financial management within the construction industry.
- Proficient in cost estimation software (e.g., Primavera, Candy, or MS Project) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Familiarity with FIDIC, local construction regulations, and international cost standards.
- Certification in CCE (Certified Cost Engineer) or similar is highly advantageous.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
