Responsibility

  • Oversee and manage daily food preparation and station assignments to ensure peak kitchen efficiency.
  • Execute complex recipes with a focus on fermentation techniques and precise flavor profiles.
  • Lead and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and disciplined team environment.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards at all times.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to minimize waste and control costs.
  • Contribute to menu development and experimental culinary projects.
  • Ensure all dishes leaving the kitchen meet KUSI’s high standards for presentation and taste.
  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless guest dining experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a high-volume, professional kitchen environment.
  • Proven expertise in various cooking techniques, with a specific interest or background in fermentation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Formal culinary education or relevant certifications are highly preferred.
  • Deep commitment to kitchen discipline, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, in Ubud, Bali.
  • Fluency in English or Indonesian (both is a plus).
