Responsibility
- Design and deploy advanced control systems and networking architectures for Google’s data centers, ensuring 99.99% uptime and sub-millisecond latency.
- Develop automated monitoring and incident response systems using Python, Go, or similar, leveraging AI/ML for predictive failure analysis.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and security teams to integrate next-gen switches, routers, and custom ASICs into production environments.
- Optimize traffic engineering and load-balancing algorithms to maximize throughput and minimize energy consumption.
- Lead cross-regional projects to standardize networking protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VXLAN) across APAC data centers.
- Implement zero-trust security frameworks and encryption standards to protect against evolving cyber threats.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to Google’s internal technical documentation and best practices.
- Drive sustainability initiatives by reducing PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) through innovative networking solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in data center networking, control systems, or large-scale distributed systems.
- Expertise in networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VXLAN) and SDN/NFV technologies (e.g., OpenFlow, Cumulus, Juniper).
- Proficiency in scripting/automation (Python, Go, Ansible) and Linux/Unix systems.
- Experience with cloud networking (GCP, AWS, Azure) and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Strong understanding of security principles (TLS, IPsec, micro-segmentation) and compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2).
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network issues in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across global teams in a hybrid/remote setting.
