Responsibility
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems for telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers and software teams to integrate mechanical solutions into broader telecom systems, optimizing performance and reliability.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost analyses for new mechanical designs, presenting findings to senior leadership.
- Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and prototypes for testing and validation.
- Oversee the manufacturing and installation of mechanical systems, coordinating with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery.
- Perform stress analysis, thermal management, and vibration testing to guarantee durability in diverse environmental conditions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing field data, identifying design flaws, and implementing corrective actions.
- Mentor junior engineers and interns, fostering a culture of innovation and knowledge-sharing within the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PE license) is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within telecommunications, electronics, or a related high-tech industry.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360) and simulation software (ANSYS, COMSOL).
- Strong understanding of materials science, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics as applied to telecom hardware.
- Experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles to optimize production efficiency.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ISO, IEC, Telcordia) and compliance requirements for telecom equipment.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-engineering stakeholders.
