Responsibility
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for clients in industries such as manufacturing, energy, and infrastructure to identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities.
- Develop and present customized loss prevention recommendations to clients, including fire protection, natural hazard mitigation, and equipment safety improvements.
- Collaborate with underwriting teams to evaluate risk exposures and determine appropriate insurance coverage and premiums.
- Provide technical consulting on construction projects, ensuring compliance with FM Global’s engineering standards and local regulations.
- Lead post-loss investigations to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in risk management, and integrate innovative solutions into client strategies.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, site visits, and progress reporting.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of best practices and training materials for the Asia Pacific team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering (or related field); advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., PE, CFPS) are a plus.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in risk management, loss prevention, or a related engineering discipline, preferably in the insurance or industrial sector.
- Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, building codes, and industrial safety standards (e.g., NFPA, FM Approvals).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
- Willingness to travel regionally (30-40%) to client sites across Asia Pacific.
- Proficiency in English (required); additional languages (e.g., Indonesian, Mandarin) are advantageous.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development in risk engineering.
