Responsibility
- Design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and highly available AWS cloud infrastructure for government systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead hybrid cloud transformation initiatives, integrating on-premises and cloud environments to optimize performance, cost, and reliability.
- Develop and enforce cloud security policies, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security, to protect sensitive public sector data.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud infrastructure to ensure 99.9% uptime for mission-critical applications and services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, security, and software development, to align cloud strategies with business objectives and project timelines.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, capacity planning, and cost optimization to maximize ROI on cloud investments.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with a focus on AWS (Amazon Web Services).
- Proven expertise in designing and managing hybrid cloud environments, including on-premises and cloud integration.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudFront, and Route 53.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Familiarity with security best practices, including compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR) and tools like AWS GuardDuty, Inspector, and Security Hub.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are highly desirable.
- Prior experience working with government or public sector projects is a plus.
