Responsibility
- Develop and maintain high-quality 3D BIM models for structural projects, ensuring accuracy, detail, and adherence to project specifications and industry standards (e.g., ISO 19650, AEC (UK) BIM Protocol).
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate structural models with other disciplines, resolving clashes and optimizing designs for constructability and efficiency.
- Perform structural analysis and simulations using BIM tools to validate design integrity, identify potential issues, and propose data-driven solutions.
- Generate detailed construction documentation, including plans, sections, elevations, and schedules, directly from BIM models to streamline project delivery.
- Lead BIM coordination meetings, presenting model updates, addressing technical challenges, and ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Mentor junior BIM modellers and team members, providing guidance on best practices, workflows, and software proficiency (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, Tekla).
- Contribute to the development and implementation of BIM execution plans (BEP), standards, and templates to enhance team productivity and project consistency.
- Stay updated on emerging BIM technologies, trends, and industry advancements, recommending tools or processes to improve project outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. A Masterâs degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in BIM modeling for structural projects, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality models in Revit, Tekla, or similar software.
- Proficiency in Revit (essential), Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Tekla Structures, with experience in structural analysis tools (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000) being advantageous.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, construction methods, and industry standards (e.g., ACI, Eurocodes, BS).
- Experience with BIM coordination, clash detection, and model federation across multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret complex structural designs into accurate BIM models.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, global team environment.
- Certifications such as Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) in Revit or similar are highly desirable.
