As an Automation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in specifying, designing, developing, and maintaining advanced automation systems, tooling, and applications to meet stringent technical and operational specifications. Responsibility
- Design, develop, and implement custom automation solutions for manufacturing processes, including robotic systems, PLC programming, and vision systems.
- Lead the specification and selection of automation equipment, tooling, and software to meet project requirements and budget constraints.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to integrate automation systems seamlessly into existing workflows.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed automation projects to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including technical specifications, user manuals, and maintenance protocols for automation systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in automation equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies in industrial automation (e.g., AI, IoT, Industry 4.0) and recommend innovative solutions to enhance productivity.
- Provide training and support to operators and maintenance teams on the use and upkeep of automation systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automation engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi) and HMI development.
- Hands-on experience with robotic systems (e.g., ABB, Fanuc, KUKA) and vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence).
- Strong knowledge of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools for automation design.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies, including IoT, data analytics, and predictive maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across multicultural teams.
