Responsibility
- Conduct technical assessments to select and size actuators based on application requirements, load specifications, and environmental conditions.
- Develop and validate actuator system designs, including integration with PLCs, HMIs, and other control systems.
- Provide on-site commissioning and troubleshooting support for actuator installations, ensuring seamless operation and compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to create customized solutions for clients, including cost estimates and feasibility studies.
- Prepare and present technical documentation, such as datasheets, user manuals, and training materials for end-users and internal teams.
- Stay updated on emerging actuator technologies (e.g., electric, hydraulic, pneumatic) and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions.
- Lead root-cause analysis for actuator failures and implement corrective actions to enhance system reliability.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and field technicians on best practices for actuator maintenance and operation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or related field); Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in actuator selection, sizing, and application engineering, preferably in industrial automation.
- Deep understanding of actuator types (linear, rotary, servo) and their applications in industries like manufacturing, oil & gas, or robotics.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools for system modeling.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of resolving complex technical issues in field environments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to articulate technical concepts to non-engineering stakeholders.
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ISO, IEC, NEMA) and safety regulations for industrial equipment.
- Willingness to travel regionally (20-30%) for site visits, commissioning, and client meetings.
