Responsibility
- Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with Malaysian OSHA and international standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety audits for data center construction sites, including electrical operations (EO) and lifting activities.
- Oversee Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) and Safety Health Officer (SHO) teams to enforce safety protocols and incident prevention measures.
- Investigate and report near-misses, accidents, and non-compliance issues, recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Provide EHS training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and subcontractors on site-specific risks and best practices.
- Ensure proper lifting equipment inspection, certification, and safe operation in accordance with LOLER and local regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers to integrate EHS considerations into project planning, including permit-to-work systems and emergency response plans.
- Maintain accurate EHS documentation, records, and KPIs for reporting to management and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Certified SHO/SSS is a plus.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in EHS roles, preferably in construction, oil & gas, or data center industries.
- In-depth knowledge of Malaysian EHS regulations (OSHA 1994, DOSH guidelines) and international standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
- Certification in First Aid, Fire Safety, or Lifting Supervisor (Lifting Gear Inspector) is highly advantageous.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficient in EHS software, Microsoft Office, and incident reporting tools.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with a proactive approach to risk management.
- Willingness to travel to Kuala Lumpur and Johor sites as required.
