Responsibility

  • Operate and maintain Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) systems to analyze semiconductor materials, ensuring high-resolution imaging and accurate data collection.
  • Perform sample preparation, including coating, sectioning, and mounting, to meet SEM analysis requirements.
  • Conduct failure analysis and defect characterization on semiconductor wafers and devices using SEM techniques.
  • Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to develop and refine SEM methodologies for improved material and process analysis.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with SEM equipment, coordinating with vendors for repairs and calibration when necessary.
  • Document and report findings, including detailed imaging results, measurements, and analytical data, to support product development and quality control.
  • Stay updated on emerging SEM technologies and industry best practices to enhance laboratory capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and laboratory standards for handling hazardous materials and operating high-voltage equipment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience operating SEM systems in a semiconductor, nanotechnology, or materials science environment.
  • Strong understanding of SEM principles, electron optics, and imaging techniques, including secondary electron (SE) and backscattered electron (BSE) detection.
  • Proficiency in sample preparation techniques (e.g., sputtering, FIB milling, cross-sectioning) and familiarity with EDX/EDS analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex SEM data and provide actionable insights.
  • Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and data analysis software (e.g., ImageJ, MATLAB).
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with a track record of collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to work in Denpasar, Bali, with flexibility for occasional travel to other Micron facilities.
