Responsibility
- Assist the Chief Officer in navigating the vessel and ensuring safe passage.
- Oversee cargo operations, including loading, stowing, and securing containers.
- Maintain accurate navigational charts, publications, and electronic systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of the vessel's safety and navigational equipment.
- Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and company policies.
- Assist in the training and supervision of junior deck officers and crew members.
- Participate in emergency drills and safety exercises.
- Maintain detailed logs and records of navigational activities and cargo operations.
Qualifications
- Valid STCW certification as a Second Officer or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Second Officer on container ships.
- Strong knowledge of navigational systems, cargo operations, and maritime regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform duties in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to work on a rotational basis as per company requirements.
