Responsibility
- Assist the Chief Engineer in the operation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical and electrical systems on board.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure the vessel's machinery operates efficiently.
- Monitor and maintain engine room equipment, including pumps, generators, and propulsion systems.
- Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and company safety policies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
- Supervise and train junior engineering staff as required.
- Participate in emergency drills and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Valid STCW certification and relevant maritime engineering qualifications.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Second Engineer or similar role on offshore vessels.
- Strong knowledge of marine diesel engines, electrical systems, and auxiliary machinery.
- Familiarity with international maritime safety and environmental regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural team.
- Willingness to travel and work on a rotational basis.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform demanding tasks in a marine environment.
