Responsibility
- Manage and organize the school library's collection of books, digital resources, and multimedia materials to ensure easy accessibility.
- Assist students, teachers, and staff in locating and utilizing library resources for academic and personal growth.
- Develop and implement programs to promote reading, research skills, and information literacy among students.
- Collaborate with faculty to integrate library resources into the curriculum and support classroom learning objectives.
- Maintain an up-to-date cataloging system and ensure the library's inventory is accurately recorded and easily searchable.
- Plan and host literary events, book clubs, and author visits to foster a vibrant reading culture within the school.
- Train students and staff on the use of library technologies, databases, and research tools.
- Monitor library usage, gather feedback, and continuously improve services to meet the evolving needs of the school community.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Education, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Previous experience as a librarian, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of library management systems, cataloging standards, and digital resources.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for promoting literacy and a deep appreciation for literature and research.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and administrative staff.
- Familiarity with educational technology and tools to enhance library services.
