Responsibility
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures in compliance with local and international standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
- Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential workplace dangers.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans to prevent recurrence of safety incidents.
- Provide safety training programs for employees at all levels, ensuring awareness and adherence to best practices.
- Monitor and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices across all operational areas.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety considerations into project planning, equipment design, and process improvements.
- Prepare and submit safety reports, including incident statistics, compliance metrics, and recommendations for improvement.
- Stay updated on emerging safety regulations and industry trends, and recommend proactive measures to enhance workplace safety.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CSP, NEBOSH) are a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Safety Engineer or in a similar role, preferably in the mining, metals, or industrial manufacturing sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of local and international safety regulations, including OSHA, ISO 45001, and Indonesian OHS standards.
- Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations with a data-driven approach.
- Strong communication and training skills, with the ability to engage and educate employees at all levels.
- Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Fluency in English and Indonesian is required; additional languages are a plus.
