Responsibility
- Assist in the development and implementation of workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Support the coordination of safety training programs for employees, including inductions and refresher courses.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and corrective actions taken.
- Collaborate with department heads to address safety concerns and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) across all work sites.
- Assist in investigating workplace accidents and near-miss incidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Stay updated on local and international safety regulations and best practices to ensure continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to conduct training sessions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in First Aid or Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is a plus.
