Responsibility
- Operate Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) cranes to load, unload, and stack containers in the terminal yard with precision and efficiency.
- Conduct pre-operational and post-operational inspections of RTG equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Coordinate with ground crews, forklift operators, and terminal supervisors to maintain smooth container movement.
- Adhere to all port safety regulations, including proper signaling, load securing, and emergency protocols.
- Monitor and report any mechanical issues or malfunctions to maintenance teams promptly.
- Maintain accurate logs of container movements, equipment usage, and operational activities.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for crane operations, including weight limits and stacking configurations.
- Assist in training new operators and sharing best practices for RTG crane handling.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience operating RTG cranes or similar heavy machinery in a port/terminal environment.
- Valid certification for crane operation (e.g., K3 or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of container terminal operations, including stacking, loading, and unloading procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Familiarity with port safety standards, including OSHA, ILO, or local Indonesian maritime regulations.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor troubleshooting on RTG equipment.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by terminal operations.
- Strong communication skills in English and/or Indonesian to coordinate with team members effectively.
