Responsibility
- Monitor and analyze security alerts, logs, and events from SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and other security tools in real time.
- Investigate and escalate potential security incidents, anomalies, or breaches following established protocols.
- Conduct proactive threat hunting to identify and mitigate emerging risks before they impact operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all security events, investigations, and resolutions for compliance and auditing purposes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security best practices and improve incident response procedures.
- Assist in the configuration, tuning, and optimization of security monitoring tools to enhance detection capabilities.
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 coverage of critical security operations.
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies to continuously improve monitoring strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in SOC (Security Operations Centre), NOC (Network Operations Centre), or a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight), IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection systems.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and encryption standards.
- Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST, or other security frameworks is a plus.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, or GIAC are highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, shift-based environment.
