Responsibility
- Provide exceptional customer service to students, parents, and educators, assisting with inquiries, recommendations, and purchases.
- Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems and handle cash/credit payments with integrity.
- Maintain a well-organized and visually appealing bookshop by restocking shelves, arranging displays, and ensuring products are easily accessible.
- Assist in inventory management, including receiving new shipments, tracking stock levels, and reporting low inventory to management.
- Promote bookshop events, new arrivals, and special offers to drive customer engagement and sales.
- Handle customer complaints or issues professionally and escalate concerns to management when necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations, including opening/closing procedures.
- Support the setup and breakdown of book fairs or school events as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; prior retail or customer service experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Basic math and cash-handling abilities for accurate transaction processing.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or school event days, as needed.
- Passion for books, education, or retail with a willingness to learn about new products.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with POS systems is advantageous but not required (training provided).
- Ability to lift and move boxes of books or supplies (up to 20 lbs).
