Responsibility
- Design, synthesize, and characterize novel biomaterials for antimicrobial, drug delivery, or cell culture applications.
- Conduct experimental research, including material fabrication, surface modification, and biological testing (e.g., cytotoxicity, antimicrobial efficacy).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate biomaterials into medical devices, implants, or therapeutic systems.
- Analyze and interpret data using advanced techniques such as SEM, FTIR, XRD, and cell viability assays.
- Publish high-impact research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences.
- Mentor junior researchers and students, fostering a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in biomaterials and propose new research directions aligned with NTU’s strategic goals.
- Prepare grant proposals and reports to secure funding for ongoing and future projects.
Qualifications
- PhD in Biomaterials Science, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Proven track record in biomaterial synthesis, characterization, and biological evaluation.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques such as polymer chemistry, 3D bioprinting, or nanofabrication.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Origin, MATLAB, Python).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to publish in high-impact journals.
- Experience with cell culture, antimicrobial testing, or drug delivery systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, FDA) for biomedical materials is a plus.
